University Of Michigan Recruit Involved In Another Plane Crash That Kills Family Members
2013 University of Michigan basketball recruit Austin Hatch is in critical condition after a Friday night plane crash that killed his father and stepmother. Dr. Stephen Hatch and his wife, Kim, were killed when their single engine plane crashed into a garage in a residential area near the Charlevoix Municipal Airport. Austin is a 6-foot-6 forward junior who shoots 45 percent for threes at Canterbury School in Fort Wayne, Indiana and made his commitment last week to the Wolverines to play basketball.
This is the second fatal plane crash for the Hatch family. Back in 2003, His father was piloting the plane when it crashed killing his first wife Julie, his daughter Lindsay, 11, and son Ian, 5. Austin and his father were the only survivors of that crash.
