Mom Goes Into Labor During Hawks Game Waits For Win Before Delivery
Windy City native Donna Lebano may just be the biggest Chicago Blackhawks fan.
With all the gut-churning action during Thursday night’s Hawks playoffs game against the Minnesota Wild, Lebano got an unmistakable feeling during the second period.
The eight months pregnant Hawks fan was going into labor.
“No way was I leaving,” Lebano said in a statement from Adventist Hinsdale Hospital according to ABC Chicago. “We are a Hawks family. I had to see the end of the game.”
After Lebano and her family hung on to watch the Hawks eliminate the Wild in Game 5, her three sisters immediately rushed her to the hospital where she delivered a healthy 6 pound, 5 ounce baby boy just a few hours after the game ended, WGN reports.
Lebano said her husband was home with their elder child when she and her sisters enjoyed a “girl’s night out” at the game, and with a month to go in her pregnancy, Lebano told WGN she didn’t expect she’d go into labor that night.
“Nothing like an exciting Hawks game to induce labor,” said Lebano’s siter Barb Wilczek.

Mama Margie’s Major Meltdown: Ron MacLean
Every Thursday Sports Grind Entertainment will present you with the Mama Margie’s Major Meltdown. The recipient of this honor goes to Canadian Broadcasting Corp. host Ron MacLean who attempted to compare the New York Rangers-Washington Capitals series to the first responders on Sept. 11. MacLean said the cities were linked in tragedy since both were targets of terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
MacLean said “it is crazy to compare what the emergency responders did during that time,” and then proceeded to do just that.
MacLean compared the players efforts in the games of the series to police officers and firefighters.
“The pain these men have faced, the price they keep on paying, the hearts they keep on lifting, it’s been through and through, five games in,” MacLean said.
MacLean finished the comparison by saying that “our worst day is their every day.”
WTF: Racist Philadelphia Flyers Fan
The NHL is going through an image problem right now and it has to deal with its fans being racist. Especially after last week the NHL had the issue of Twitter being set ablaze with racist comments after Joel Ward’s Game 7 goal in overtime for the Washington Capitals ousted the Boston Bruins from the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Tim Thomas Taunted With Obama Signs By Washington Capitals Fans
President Barack Obama wasn’t in attendance at the Verizon Center to see the Washington Capitals take on the defending Stanley Cup champions Boston Bruins for Game 3 on. But his face did manage to make an appearance, several times.
Capitals fans used pictures of Obama’s face to taunt Boston’s star goalie Tim Thomas, who skipped out on the team’s visit to the White House back in January months after the Bruins won the Stanley Cup.
Despite being named Stanley Cup MVP, Thomas refused to join his team in D.C. when Obama honored the Bruins, citing political issues. In a statement posted on Facebook, Thomas said he believes the federal government “has grown out of control” but also wrote that he blames both political parties.
Before the playoffs began, Thomas abruptly ended a media session when a question was asked about the skipping out on Obama.
Capitals fans didn’t let him off the hook that easily. In honor of Thomas’ White House snub, several Caps bloggers coordinated a fan effort to revisit the story and taunt him with pictures of Obama’s face and posters depicting the president (some which were gigantic). A Capitals blog called Russian Machine Never Breaks even created PDFs of Obama’s face for fans to download, print and bring to the game.
