Dennis Rodman is back from his visit to North Korea where he made a friend for life in Kim Jong Un. And if you thought that you had heard the last of Rodman and his love of the North Korean leader, well you were mistaken.
Rodman decided to visit the hotel bar at the Time Hotel on Sunday where he had more than a couple of drinks and spent his whole time telling anyone who would listen that Kim Jong Un was a nice guy.
The problem for Rodman was that no one wanted to hear about Kim Jong Un. And that eventually led to Rodman reportedly being escorted out of both the hotel and the hotel bar.
He was at the bar at Serafina for four hours,” says a witness. “He kept saying what a nice guy Kim is, and how Kim just wants to talk to President Obama about basketball. He was waving around a signed copy of the dictator’s huge manifesto, telling everyone they should read it.”
Added the witness, “Dennis was making a total jerk of himself. He wouldn’t stop about Kim Jong Un, and he wouldn’t let anyone talk to him about shutting up, or what an oppressive country North Korea is. Eventually he was escorted out by the bartender.”

By now you know that Dennis Rodman is spreading the gospel of basketball in North Korea, and rumors swirled that Rodman would get to meet the Supreme Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, who is a basketball fanatic.
That definitely happened, as the two sat together at a basketball exhibition featuring Rodman’s touring buddies the Harlem Globetrotters and a group of North Korean players dubbed as their version of the “Dream Team”.
The Associated Press reports that Rodman told Jong Un in front of thousands of fans “you have a friend for life”.
It turns out, the perks of being a dictator’s “friend for life” are pretty sweet, as Rodman and the VICE crew went back to the Supreme Leader’s home, where they enjoyed a ten-course gourmet meal and everyone got wasted:

Arriving in Pyongyang, the American athlete and showman known as “The Worm” became an unlikely ambassador for sports diplomacy at a time of heightened tensions between the United States and North Korea. Or maybe not so unlikely: Young leader Kim Jong Un is said to have been a fan of the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, when Rodman won three championships with the club.
Rodman is joining three members of the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team and a VICE correspondent for a news show on North Korea that will air on HBO later this year, VICE producers told the Associated Press in an exclusive interview Tuesday before they landed.

Dennis Rodman Working On Children’s Book

Dennis Rodman has been called a lot of things. Until now, children’s author was not one of those things.
The NBA Hall of Famer has written a book for kids and dedicated it to his own children. Thus far the substance of the book, to be released in September, has not been revealed.
The book is illustrated by Dan Monroe and co-written with screenwriter Dustin Warburton.
“…Dennis has a lot of great lessons to convey so needless to say it’s not only going to be fun, it’s going to spread a positive message which is what children’s books are all about,” said Warburton.

Dennis Rodman Sentenced For Failing To Pay Child Support

Basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman was sentenced in family court Tuesday to 104 hours of community service on four counts of contempt for failing to pay child support.
Court Commissioner Barry Michaelson also placed Rodman on three years of informal probation. The sentence includes the condition that Rodman pay current child and spousal support obligations.
“My suggestion is to use your talents as a motivator, as a fine, fine athlete and as a fine person to assist others in need,” Michaelson told the Basketball Hall of Famer.
During a recent appearance on NBC’s Today show, Rodman suggested he was keeping up with payments for his children and ex-wife.
“I am not a deadbeat dad.” Rodman said. “Yeah, I pay child support. I’m not one of the guys that made Michael Jordan money or Scottie Pippen money. I made a decent living in the NBA, but broke? I’m not broke.”

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman is “broke,” “extremely sick” and unable to pay off hundreds of thousands of dollars in child and spousal support payments, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The 51-year old former Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers star owes $808,935 in back child support for two children he had with third wife Michelle Rodman, said her attorney Jack Kayajanian in court documents. Rodman also owes $51,441 in spousal support, said the attorney.
Rodman, nicknamed “The Worm” and “Dennis the Menace” during his days as the NBA’s premier rebounder, faces a court hearing in Southern California Tuesday. He could be jailed for 20 days for failure to pay child and spousal support. Per the Times:
Dennis Rodman’s attorney, Linnea Willis, said in court documents that the former Laker is barely capable of paying for his living expenses, let alone the $5,000 he has for one child from another relationship, and the $4,500 monthly payment for spousal and child support to Michelle Rodman. The attorneys who have represented him to date have worked pro bono, Willis said.
“Respondent Dennis Rodman is broke and cannot afford any additional fees,” according to court documents filed on his behalf. He is “extremely sick” and his marketability is diminishing with age and illness, according to court documents

Dennis Rodman Wins Coaching Debut

The game was hyped as former NBA great Dennis Rodman’s coaching debut with the Elmira Bulldogs, but Rodman’s role appeared more inspirational as he rarely left his seat for anything more than time outs. Elmira’s Aubin Scott hit a free throw with 17.6 seconds left in regulation to give the Bulldogs a 100-99 win over Garden State in the team’s debut at First Arena.
Regardless, Rodman received praise from both Bulldogs players and the team’s regular head coach James Schutz following Elmira’s win.
“There were a lot of things that he was able to pick up during the game that I didn’t see,” Schutz said. “He was always in my ear on the bench and he was able to relate to players. He would pull them off to the side during foul shots.”
“At halftime, Dennis said we were better than them. He said for us to relax and play our game,” Scott said. “He also showed us how to run the pick and roll more effectively. It was definitely a help, because we used the pick and roll the whole game.”
Rodman and the Bulldogs will return to First Arena tonight to face the New York Wizards.
