Dennis Rodman is back from his visit to North Korea where he made a friend for life in Kim Jong Un. And if you thought that you had heard the last of Rodman and his love of the North Korean leader, well you were mistaken.
Rodman decided to visit the hotel bar at the Time Hotel on Sunday where he had more than a couple of drinks and spent his whole time telling anyone who would listen that Kim Jong Un was a nice guy.
The problem for Rodman was that no one wanted to hear about Kim Jong Un. And that eventually led to Rodman reportedly being escorted out of both the hotel and the hotel bar.
He was at the bar at Serafina for four hours,” says a witness. “He kept saying what a nice guy Kim is, and how Kim just wants to talk to President Obama about basketball. He was waving around a signed copy of the dictator’s huge manifesto, telling everyone they should read it.”
Added the witness, “Dennis was making a total jerk of himself. He wouldn’t stop about Kim Jong Un, and he wouldn’t let anyone talk to him about shutting up, or what an oppressive country North Korea is. Eventually he was escorted out by the bartender.”
By now you know that Dennis Rodman is spreading the gospel of basketball in North Korea, and rumors swirled that Rodman would get to meet the Supreme Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, who is a basketball fanatic.
That definitely happened, as the two sat together at a basketball exhibition featuring Rodman’s touring buddies the Harlem Globetrotters and a group of North Korean players dubbed as their version of the “Dream Team”.
The Associated Press reports that Rodman told Jong Un in front of thousands of fans “you have a friend for life”.
It turns out, the perks of being a dictator’s “friend for life” are pretty sweet, as Rodman and the VICE crew went back to the Supreme Leader’s home, where they enjoyed a ten-course gourmet meal and everyone got wasted:
Former NBA star Dennis Rodman brought his basketball skills and flamboyant tattoos, nose studs and all to a country with possibly the world’s strictest dress code in the world: North Korea.
Arriving in Pyongyang, the American athlete and showman known as “The Worm” became an unlikely ambassador for sports diplomacy at a time of heightened tensions between the United States and North Korea. Or maybe not so unlikely: Young leader Kim Jong Un is said to have been a fan of the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, when Rodman won three championships with the club.
Rodman is joining three members of the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team and a VICE correspondent for a news show on North Korea that will air on HBO later this year, VICE producers told the Associated Press in an exclusive interview Tuesday before they landed.

Dennis Rodman has been called a lot of things. Until now, children’s author was not one of those things.
The NBA Hall of Famer has written a book for kids and dedicated it to his own children. Thus far the substance of the book, to be released in September, has not been revealed.
The book is illustrated by Dan Monroe and co-written with screenwriter Dustin Warburton.
“…Dennis has a lot of great lessons to convey so needless to say it’s not only going to be fun, it’s going to spread a positive message which is what children’s books are all about,” said Warburton.
Last year San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson showed up to the ESPY’s wearing a spandex tuxedo and this year he brought Sasquatch along as his date and we’re not talking about Khloe Kardashian.
Basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman was sentenced in family court Tuesday to 104 hours of community service on four counts of contempt for failing to pay child support.
Court Commissioner Barry Michaelson also placed Rodman on three years of informal probation. The sentence includes the condition that Rodman pay current child and spousal support obligations.
“My suggestion is to use your talents as a motivator, as a fine, fine athlete and as a fine person to assist others in need,” Michaelson told the Basketball Hall of Famer.
During a recent appearance on NBC’s Today show, Rodman suggested he was keeping up with payments for his children and ex-wife.
“I am not a deadbeat dad.” Rodman said. “Yeah, I pay child support. I’m not one of the guys that made Michael Jordan money or Scottie Pippen money. I made a decent living in the NBA, but broke? I’m not broke.”
Last few years of Stephon Marbury’s career stateside was known much more for mockery than four skills but his fortunes changed since heading overseas.
Marbury was been a breakout star in China, where he led the Beijing Ducks to the Chinese Basketball Association title in March. In honor of Marbury’s role in the championship, the three-time all-star in the Chinese league was been given a bronze statue in his likeness.
The work was unveiled yesterday and Dennis Rodman was on hand for the commencement speech and dedication of the statue.
Former NBA star Dennis Rodman is “broke,” “extremely sick” and unable to pay off hundreds of thousands of dollars in child and spousal support payments, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The 51-year old former Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers star owes $808,935 in back child support for two children he had with third wife Michelle Rodman, said her attorney Jack Kayajanian in court documents. Rodman also owes $51,441 in spousal support, said the attorney.
Rodman, nicknamed “The Worm” and “Dennis the Menace” during his days as the NBA’s premier rebounder, faces a court hearing in Southern California Tuesday. He could be jailed for 20 days for failure to pay child and spousal support. Per the Times:
Dennis Rodman’s attorney, Linnea Willis, said in court documents that the former Laker is barely capable of paying for his living expenses, let alone the $5,000 he has for one child from another relationship, and the $4,500 monthly payment for spousal and child support to Michelle Rodman. The attorneys who have represented him to date have worked pro bono, Willis said.
“Respondent Dennis Rodman is broke and cannot afford any additional fees,” according to court documents filed on his behalf. He is “extremely sick” and his marketability is diminishing with age and illness, according to court documents
Basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman took part in a US Pro-Ball Legend tour in Asia on Sunday with former NBA players like Scottie Pippen, Gary Payton, Clyde Drexler, and Mitch Richmond, and played the entire game with clown makeup on.
Dennis Rodman did a lot of things with the Chicago Bulls. Having a conversation with Michael Jordan or Scottie Pippen was not one of them.
Rodman, who says “I thought it was important for me to go there and win” says that his conversations were with Randy Brown, Steve Kerr and Luc Longley but “me and Scottie and Michael never had a conversation in three years in Chicago. Only time we had a conversation was on the court, that was it. And nobody believes that.”
The lengthy interview also has Rodman talking about his reputation, his gambling and his drinking. “I burned both ends of the candle….and I’m still here.”
Remember on July 14, when we posted the picture of San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson showed up to the ESPY’s in a spandex tuxedo suit alone with a cane? Well it didn’t take long for a Giants fan to match Wilson and take his dress up act to AT&T Park. D.J. Silva showed up to the Philadelphia Phillies-Giants game on Sunday and took the outfield bleachers by storm.
San Francisco Giants closer showed up at the ESPY’s last night trying to pull off his best impression of former NBA star Dennis Rodman act, in that he marches to his own beat and it’s called self-promotion. The more I look at his spandex tuxedo suit, I’m starting to wish I had one.
Normally we don’t do Charlie Sheen posts unless it has a direct connection to the sports world and over the weekend on his current “My Violent Torpedo of Truth” tour and had a special guest join him in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The “Worm” aka Dennis Rodman took the stage with him where some of the discussion focused on life and death. Perhaps over about near cocaine overdoses?
Have you ever wondered what an NBA Hall of Famer looks like in lingerie? Well you don’t have to look to far when the member of the Hall is Dennis Rodman. This was the case as Rodman for who knows what reason decided to don pink lingerie and take pictures of it.
A full decade after he retired from the game and 18 years removed from playing with the Detroit Pistons were he won two back-to-back championships in 1989-1990 Dennis Rodman had his number No.10 retired by the team that had the “Worm” in tears.
No it’s not an April Fools joke but on that day the Detroit Pistons plan on retiring former Bad Boy and rebounding machine Dennis Rodman’s jersey. Between the wedding dress, the arrests, the stint on Celebrity Rehab and all the other whack-o stuff Rodman did off the court it’s far easy to forget what a great player he was. But the Pistons do and they remember the work the “Worm” put in helping those Bad Boys teams win two NBA titles by honoring him with retiring his No. 10 jersey on April 1.
Rodman twice was named the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year while with Detroit. He led the NBA in rebounds-per-game for seven seasons, including a career high of 18.7 in 1991-92. He also was a seven-time selection for the NBA All-Defensive first team.
Former NBA player Dennis Rodman phoned into a Miami radio station Tuesday morning while apparently receiving oral sex. Rodman, who called into Jorge Sedano’s radio show to discuss the Miami Heat, but was distracted and interrupted by a woman in the room with him, who said one of her names was Teresa. When the host eventually asked him if he was getting it on, Rodman said no.
“She’s just sucking something,” he said to laughs. “Sorry! I’m sorry about that. You said keep clean, right?”
Back on August 26, we posted the story of former NBA player Dennis Rodman saying he’s had sex with over 2,000 women and now according to the New York Post he is said to have shocked Hampton party goers when his sexual escapade with six women was broadcast through a cordless microphone in his pocket. Hotel Indigo promoters were shocked when they heard Rodman talking dirty over the music at their pool party.
“Rodman had quite a lot to drink and had been making shout-outs on the mike. He headed up to his room with six girls. Then, the next thing you could hear through the speakers downstairs was Rodman describing in full sexual detail what he wanted to do to them. Organizers pulled the plug before it got any dirtier,” the source stated.
Rodman’s agent, Darren Prince, confirmed that the basketball star had no idea the microphone was on.
Former NBA star Dennis Rodman sat down with a Minneapolis Star-Tribune columnist for an interview when he revealed in a series of questions about his personal life in which he claimed he has had sex with 2,000 women and that “probably 500″ were not whores.
Rodman even answered a question about who was better in bed, Carmen Electra or Madonna for which he replied “me.” In an ex-spouse-related question Rodman was asked about his ex-wife Anicka Rodman’s claim that he gave her two STDs which he responded that he “never have,” but kinda hard to believe since he’s putting 2,000 women in the huckle buck.
I’ll never forget my encounter with Rodman back in the summer of 2000 when my homeboy Ricardo Vela and I where messing with a drunk Rodman on the party boat of Trent Reznor at Lake Texoma. It was a Fourth of July weekend and he tried to beat us down with good reason, since what we where saying to him and trying to provoke him. Rodman had enough of our crap and got into our faces and the whole time I couldn’t help but notice how much dirt is caked on all over his arms and neck area. It was gross and has been a long lasting mental image every time I hear his name. Good times though.
I guess things do come in cycles. Off the court it was Wesley Snipes wearing some wack ass futuristic pants in Demolition Man then of course you had Sisqo asking everyone is she had dumps like a truck, truck and thighs like what, what. But on the court we had Dennis Rodman step out and show us it still not a good look and now Los Angeles Lakers is out to resurrect a dead image.
Dudes need to keep the curtains matching the carpet while brothers need to act like peroxide was never invented.
The game was hyped as former NBA great Dennis Rodman’s coaching debut with the Elmira Bulldogs, but Rodman’s role appeared more inspirational as he rarely left his seat for anything more than time outs. Elmira’s Aubin Scott hit a free throw with 17.6 seconds left in regulation to give the Bulldogs a 100-99 win over Garden State in the team’s debut at First Arena.
Regardless, Rodman received praise from both Bulldogs players and the team’s regular head coach James Schutz following Elmira’s win.
“There were a lot of things that he was able to pick up during the game that I didn’t see,” Schutz said. “He was always in my ear on the bench and he was able to relate to players. He would pull them off to the side during foul shots.”
“At halftime, Dennis said we were better than them. He said for us to relax and play our game,” Scott said. “He also showed us how to run the pick and roll more effectively. It was definitely a help, because we used the pick and roll the whole game.”
Rodman and the Bulldogs will return to First Arena tonight to face the New York Wizards.
Real men wear pink in support for a great cause. In his support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month Dennis Rodman walked the Komen for a Cure Pink Dress show on at the Eden Roc Hotel on Miami’s South Beach.

Back to issue at hand, great cause.
