New Jersey Nets Offer To Do Tax Returns, If You Just Go To Their Games

1,016 Fans

The New Jersey Nets have only won six games this season and are back at another gimmick to get people of New Jersey see them come play. This time, they’re giving fans a coupon to have their tax returns done for attending.

The Nets have combined with Roni Deutch Tax Center to offer a free New Jersey income tax return to state residents 18 years and older who attend their game against the Orlando Magic on Friday night at the Izod Center. Patrons won’t get their state taxes done on the spot. They’ll be given a coupon for a free state tax return. The cost is usually $29.

Some of the Nets other promotions have been the “Your Ticket to a Player” which offered fans the opportunity to have Devin Harris, Brook Lopez or any other player on the roster stop by at a family birthday party. All you had to do was pay $25,000 for four courtside tickets for 10 games. You got parking, food and drinks, too.

There also was a 10-game “Match-Up” ticket plan through which their fans got a collection of reversible jerseys with the uniforms of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Dwyane Wade and Howard on one side and a Nets player on the other.

But the bottom line is no matter how enticing this promotions are, you still going to watch the Nets.

It’s Over!!! The New Jersey Nets Finally Post Their 1st Win

1-18

Still Hold The Record For Worst Start

The streak is over and Kiki is the hero. Finally is what every NBA fan is thinking as the New Jersey Nets got to experience what a win exactly feels like.

The Nets won for the first time this season and their first win since April 13, ending the worst start in NBA history at 18 losses by beating the Charlotte Bobcats 97-91.

Brook Lopez and Courtney Lee where the stars as Lopez had 31 points and 14 rebounds and Lee scored a career-high 27 points in his return to the starting lineup for the Nets in their first game under Kiki Vandeweghe, their general manager who will coach the rest of the season.

Vandeweghe was given the position Tuesday, two days after the Nets fired Lawrence Frank. Assistant Tom Barrise guided the team for the previous two losses so Vandeweghe could bask in the glory when the team had one of it’s best chances to turn the page.

But they still are the Nets and gaffes still occur in East Rutherford as Vandeweghe first coaching decision was to inset Lee for Trenton Hassell in the starting lineup. Apparently though nobody told the personal announcer as he announced Hassell doing starting lineup introductions.

The game included some eire side notes as the Nets last victory was in April and against the Bobcats. In addition Bobcats coach Larry Brown once coached the Nets in 1981-82 and ’82-’83. Brown also coached Vandeweghe for a year at UCLA and again for the Los Angeles Clippers at the end of his pro career.

The krispy kreme is finally no more but let’s not forget the history still holds this New Jersey Nets team photo as the worst to ever start an NBA season,0-18.

Milwaukee Bucks Joe Alexander Wants To Be Traded

Fraud

Fraud

Could a new city and team be what the former 2008 No. 8 overall draft pick Joe Alexander needs to jump start his career or could the former West Virginia standout be a player that could never play on highest level in the first place? I’m going with the latter and I consider myself an Alexander fan.

The Milwaukee Bucks decided two weeks ago not to pick up his third year option on his rookie contract, and that has lead Alexander to say he wants to be traded. Alexander’s 2010-11 option for $2.76 million was not picked up by the Nov. 2 deadline, making him an unrestricted free agent next summer.

It has lead Alexander to say if they don’t want him than they should trade him. But in fairness to the Bucks decision Alexander is hardly healthy and when so he isn’t making himself into a force during practice that he should command playing time.

The Bucks and I had high hopes for the 6-foot-8 Alexander when they selected him and they did so ahead of players such , selecting him ahead of players such as Brook Lopez, Jason Thompson, Anthony Randolph, and JaVale McGee. Instead, Alexander became the highest first-round pick ever to have his rookie contract option declined after his first season.

Such high demands for a player that hasn’t given anything back.
