Marion Barber, DeMarcus Ware Have Fractures
When you hear the world fracture, your mind naturally doesn’t think all is fine, how could it be when you are using a word that means: a break, rupture, or crack, especially in bone or cartilage. That’s the word being tossed around at Valley Ranch today as Wade Phillips revealed that Marion Barber and DeMarcus Ware have fractures.
Every Cowboy practiced on Wednesday but coach Wade Phillips said Marion Barber suffered a fractured left thumb against Kansas City and DeMarcus Ware has a stress fracture in his foot. Phillips said both players will start Sunday against Atlanta.
Phillips said Barber complained of soreness after the Chiefs game but practiced without trouble during the bye week. He had an MRI after he complained of soreness on Monday that revealed the fracture. Barber is right handed so Phillips does not believe carrying the ball or catching the ball will be much of an issue.
Wade can go all car salesmen on me but I’m not buying. The Barber news is a little more optimistic but the Ware news is fighting for all Cowboy fans especially when you look at the production coming from Ware so far. My fat gut says he’s already been playing on it for a few games and it’s hampered him.
Is it me or has it look as if Ware has been a step behind on all of his quarterback hitsĀ this season?
