Greg Reid To Enroll At Valdosta State
Greg Reid appears to have has found a home at Valdosta State in Georgia. A school official confirmed the defensive back had been accepted for enrollment. Reid was a standout at Florida State for the first three seasons of his career before being dismissed from the football team earlier this month for a violation of team rules.
Valdosta State, a Division II power, has already started preseason practices. Reid will not be cleared to join the team until he formally enrolls.
That seems a formality after Reid took to Twitter.
@GregReid5 VSU Blazers! Turn up always love my NOLES tho
The transfer would be a return home for Reid. He attended Lowndes High in Valdosta before signing with Florida State. Reid was charged during a traffic stop near his hometown when a Georgia State Patrol officer allegedly found marijuana in Reid’s car. That arrest came less than a year after Reid got into trouble with the university and Tallahassee police in separate incidents.
First, he was suspended for a game against Charleston Southern early in the 2011 season for a violation of team rules. Then, he was arrested for allegedly interfering with a police investigation, but those charges were later dropped.
