Phil Simms Wanted To Hit Desmond Howard Over Criticism Of His College Son
Current ESPN College Football analyst and former NFL player Desmond Howard took to his Twitter account to let everyone know that former NFL player and current CBS pro football analyst Phil Simms said he wanted to “swing” on him for comments he made about his son on television. Simms son Matt is a quarterback on the University of Tennessee football team and this past season he saw his time as the teams signal caller go from the role of full time starter to being a backup.
The comments that set Phil Simms off was made back in October when Tennessee traveled to LSU and Howard went on TV and said
“you will see three of the worse quarterbacks in the SEC”
It wasn’t until hours ago that Phil was able to confront Howard at NFL-Xperience about the comments. The people gathered around the two thought that Phil was joking when he said he wanted to “swing” on Howard, which Desmond responded by saying “let’s go.” The two ended up not throwing any punches.
Matt threw for 1460 yards to go along with 8 touchdowns and 5 interceptions for completion percentage of 57.9.
