Former Utah Jazz Player Arrested With Weed Between His Buttocks

"spread your cheeks and give me two big coughs"

Police in Salt Lake County arrested former Utah Jazz center Robert Whaley and found marijuana between his buttocks according to a jail document.

Whaley, 27, had warrants for his arrest for absconding from a probation in Michigan. A police document filed with the Salt Lake County jail says gang detectives stopped a car about 4:30 a.m. Thursday. Whaley was a passenger and was not wearing a seat belt, the document says.

Gang detectives were monitoring the apartment complexes due to recent crime problems when detectives spotted an occupied car sitting in a parking lot with no lights on and decided to investigate. Whaley identified himself to police as Kareem Johnson but the detectives recognized him as being a former Jazz player. Police discovered Whaley had a warrant for his arrest.

But Whaley made it all the way to the jail and thats where he was found to be in possession of several baggies of marijuana that he was holding between his buttocks. The amount was not released. Whaley remained in the Salt Lake County jail until his extrodiation to Michigan and is being held on $100,000 bail. The state of Michigan lists Whaley has having a 2008 conviction for maintaining a drug house. It says he has absconded from parole in that state.

In December 2005, Whaley and his then teammate Deron Williams had a run-in with the law. The pair were at Harry O’s nightclub in Park City and had a confrontation with Denver Nuggets fans. Some garbage cans were thrown and somehow Whaley slit his hand. But again in 2005 Whaley used a fictitious name to Park City police and received misdemeanor citations for providing false information. Whaley also lied to the Jazz about how he received the cut.

Whaley gave his name as “Bobby Williams” while Williams gave “Torrey Ellis.”

The Jazz drafted Whaley in the second round of the 2005 draft. He appeared in 23 games for the team the following season. The Jazz traded Whaley to the Toronto Raptors in June 2006. The Raptors waived him before he played a game. Whaley returned to the Jazz for training camp a few months later but never played another regular season game in the NBA.

No More Agent Zero, Gilbert Arenas Switches Number

Put A Bullet In Agent Zero

Goodbye, “Agent Zero.” Gilbert Arenas is switching his uniform number.

The suspended guard submitted paperwork to go from No. 0 to No. 6, and the NBA approved the change, league spokesman Tim Frank confirmed.

Arenas has worn zero since college, saying he picked that number because that’s how many minutes people expected him to play at Arizona.

Arenas said he chose the number 6 because it’s the same day that he was born and given a season-ending suspension by the NBA for bringing guns to the locker room.

Indiana Pacers Owner Accused Of Screwing Nanny

Just A Cost Cutting Decision

TMZ is reporting in a lawsuit filed at the L.A. County Superior Court, Indiana Pacers owner Herb Simon and his Thai supermodel wife, Bui, are accused of firing Claudia Leite after she told her bosses she became pregnant last month.

In the suit, Leite claims the family “feared” that she would want to take a “brief or limited medical leave of absence” around the time the baby was due — and according to Leite, that wasn’t gonna cut it.

The Simons former driver is also suing the couple, claiming they kicked him to the curb when the guy became “disabled with severe infections.”

Both the nanny and the driver claim the Simons also screwed them out of several paychecks — they’re both asking for an unspecified amount of cash.

Have you seen attendance for a Pacers game? Simon is obviously just trying to save some money

Big Baby Forever Linked To Andrew Bogut

I’m probably reaching here with this post over any of the other “Forever Linked To” posts but I’ve been racking my brain on trying to think of any other million dollar moment for the former number overall pick.

I keep coming up empty in that department so maybe this is Milwaukee Bucks Andrew Bogut first ever. Its quite a nice one plus anytime you send the Baby to the floor sure adds a little a flavor.

Another Game Winner For KOBE!!!

Like that Bron-Bron? Kobe had that long time ago butt-naked on the balcony at the Dolla-noa.

Number 6 of this season.

Big Baby Almost Landed ‘Blind Side’ Role

Smile For The Camera

Back in 2007 Boston Celtics Glen “Big Baby” Davis was the leading candidate to portray Baltimore Ravens guard Michael Oher in the movie The Blind Side.

Sandra Bullock won an Oscar on Sunday night for Best Actress and her co-star could have been “Big Baby” if not for his regular job of playing in the NBA. “Big Baby” who had done some acting and improving in his days back at Louisiana State University was approached to try out for the Oher role in 2007 and sent in an audition tape.

Out of his league right? Well no, “Big Baby” s actually got a callback but never went tot he audition due to his NBA schedule. The scene “Big Baby” performed for the audition tape was of when Oher discusses selecting a college and ultimately deciding on the University of Mississippi.

“I never flew out because I didn’t have time,” he said. “I was playing, it was at the beginning of the season. That would’ve been tough. I would’ve had to shoot during the summer time, and that was a really important time.”

“Big Baby” later learned he was one of the top three candidates for the role. Crazy to think he passed on a SAG card which for sure would have outlived his NBA career.

Ron Artest Admits Sunday’s Hair Was Bad Move

DISS IT!

Los Angeles Lakers Ron Artest who on Sunday was featured in our Hair Wars segment and graced everyone’s TV that very day with a new hair did admitted that it was a bad move. Artests had three different languages meaning “defense” styled into his peroxide blond look but couldn’t get it to help in stopping Orlando Magic forward Vince Carter from dropping 25 points on him.

“Yeah it’s definitely called a hair “don’t.” We was on ABC, I wanted to give the people something special, so I thought that would be the most coolest thing to do. I wanted to put the Lakers in my hair ’cause I like to put the Lakers in my head, but this time why not just put defense. I usually just do Chinese, the time before I put Chinese and Korean, but my friend said why not put it in all the nationalities. We only had room for three, so we went with Japanese, Hindi on the back of my head, and Hebrew on the front and top of my head so to speak, so it was fun.”

Come practice on Monday though Artest head was shaved but reporters could still read the writing in his scalp as the purple dye stain the skin and hadn’t come out.

Next time swing your hair suggestions by our Hair Wars department and they can say you the humiliation.

San Antonio Spurs Top 9 Worst Injuries Of All Time

1996-97: The Gift & The Curse

The latest injury to San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, a broken the fourth metacarpal in his shooting hand, has cost him the rest of the regular season in a year that has already plagued him with plantar fasciitis, spraining both ankles, a strained hip flexor and food poisoning.

With the Spurs currently hanging onto the Western Conference seventh seed that already has many questioning their  chances in the playoffs and with this latest injury it will sure cast a greater shadow of doubt. While injuries are part of the game, what have been the 9 most damaging to the Spurs franchise? Why 9? In honor of Tony.

  • 9. Tony Parker 2009-10 season

Parker an NBA Finals MVP season looked shaky from the start when he suffered his first injury in a year that was filled with many. While playing overseas in the off-season for France against Hungary in Eurobasketball Parker turned his ankle. The bug was cast before the season even started but stayed with him until March 6 in Memphis, where his regular season came to end. Parker sat out numerous games in the year to a variety of injuries: plantar fasciitis, a strained hip flexor, spraining both ankles and food poisoning.

  • 8. James Silas 1976-76 season

Possibly one of the best Spurs of all-time that the NBA never had a chance to see at his peak. In the last season ABA before the merger Captain Late broke his ankle by landing on the foot of New Jersey Nets guard Brian Taylor in the ABA Finals. Recovered and ready for the Spurs first season in the NBA he suffered a cartilage tear in his knee restricting him to play in only 22 games for a Spurs team that was poised to contend. Silas played only 37 games the following season and was out of the league in four years.

  • 7. Manu Ginobili 2008-09 season

One of the greatest to put on a Spurs jersey was injured in the semi-finals of the Beijing Olympics. The injury carried through to the NBA season and limited him to appear only in 44 regular season games and missed the entire playoffs. San Antonio went in as the third seed with a 54–28 record but was eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round 4–1 the earliest exit since 2000.

  • 6. Johnny Dawkins 1988-89 season

Originally drafted with the 10th overall pick in the 1986 NBA Draft the former Duke all time leading scorer and Naismith College Player of the Year was suppose to be the point guard of the future for the Spurs and coach Larry Brown. Durring the 88-89 season he started to suffer from a nerve injury in his left leg and foot that allowed him to only see action in 32 games. The nerve injury in his leg would eventually force him to retire from the game.

  • 5. Terry Cummings 1992-93 season

In a season in which the Spurs improved on its record and advanced out of the first round they did so with limited minutes from one of their best scorers in Cummings. In the off-season Cummings tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during a pickup game that forced him to miss the first 74 regular season games. Upon his return, he could no longer put up All-Star numbers he was accustomed and from then on was used in a role much like a reserve.

  • 4. Derek Anderson 2000-01 season

Anderson was a vital part in the Spurs plans of providing outside help to Tim Duncan and David Robinson averaging 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game on the wing. The Spurs looked to be on their way to earining a second NBA championship in 3 years as the stars where lining up until Dallas Mavericks Juwan Howard drew a flagrant foul on Anderson. He separated his right shoulder when he drove for the basket and Howard swung his arm into Anderson’s side that caused him to land on his shoulder. He missed the rest of the Mavericks series and returned in the conference finals against the in limited minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers. Anderson and the Spurs where caught in a no win situation since it wasn’t adequate enough time for him to heal.

  • 3. Tim Duncan 1999-2000 season

In the Spurs first chance at trying to repeat as champions after winning their first NBA championship, they entered the playoffs without Duncan. He was averaging 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game in a season that he had earned co-MVP with Shaquille O’Neal during the All-Star Game. However Duncan injured his meniscus shortly before the end of the regular season against the Sacramento Kings. The injury forced him to miss the playoffs and the Spurs saw them lose to the Phoenix Suns 3–1 in the first round. Without Duncan the Spurs relied on Malik Rose and Jerome Kersey to play alongside David Robinson but in the series they saw them go down as well with injuries.

  • 2. Johnny Moore 1986-87 season

An assist man, who lead the league in that category in 1981-82, a steal man, an all around NBA player in his first five season with the Spurs. Moore often found the open man and wasn’t afraid to make the extra pass as he is one of only three players in teams history to record 20 assists during a game was hospitalized December 26,1986 with the devastating disease, Desert Fever.  Doctors warned him that the disease could be fatal. Desert Fever luckily did not cost his life but ended up costing his basketball career as Moore lost three years of playing. He finally was able to return to the court to play in 53 games during 1989-90 season, which would be his last.

  • 1. David Robinson 1996-97 season

The year that will be known as the gift and curse for the Spurs franchise. That season saw Robinson hurt his back in the preseason, an injury that would plagued him the rest of his career, limited him to 6 games before breaking a bone in his foot. He wound up missing the entire season and the Spurs finished 20-62. The curse is it cost the Spurs their best player in franchise history and their season but the gift came in the form of ping pong balls and the drafting of Tim Duncan out of Wake Forest University with the number one overall pick.

Is there a Spurs injury you believe that was missed to be of greater significant than these 9? Feel free to leave your feedback.

Portland Trail Blazers Joel Przybilla Reinjures Knee In Shower

Ouch

It’s amazing the Portland Trail Blazers are still hanging around in the Western Conference playoff chase with the rash of injuries the team has faced this season. No other team in the NBA has faced as many injuries as the Trail Blazers and the injury bug is biting them even in rehab.

Trail Blazers center Joel Przybilla reinjured his surgically repaired right knee and will require another surgery. Przybilla reinjured the knee when he slipped while entering the shower at his home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He immediately flew to Portland and had a magnetic resonance imaging test. The MRI showed a tear of the patella tendon that was repaired.

Przybilla, 30,  ruptured his right patella tendon in a Dec. 22 game at Dallas. He was 10 weeks post-operation and had just started to walk without a brace.

The team said there now is no timetable for his return, if he does ever return to the court. The injury does all but guarantees he will exercise his option to return next season to the Blazers at more than $6 million.

Przybilla was an important piece on the court as well as in the locker room and was voted by his teammates as a co-captain along with Brandon Roy.

Hair Wars: Ron Artest

I guess things do come in cycles. Off the court it was Wesley Snipes wearing some wack ass futuristic pants in Demolition Man then of course you had Sisqo asking everyone is she had dumps like a truck, truck and thighs like what, what. But on the court we had Dennis Rodman step out and show us it still not a good look and now Los Angeles Lakers is out to resurrect a dead image.

Dudes need to keep the curtains matching the carpet while brothers need to act like peroxide was never invented.

Former Spur Returns To San Antonio To Face Sex Trafficking Case

ALLLLVVIIIIINNNNNNNNNNN!!

Former San Antonio Spurs Alvin Robertson waived his extradition rights and is returning to San Antonio to face charges of sexual assault of a child and sex trafficking.

He was arrested in Bentonville, Arkansas, a week after Texas authorities issued a warrant.

The 47-year-old former Spurs player is accused of being part of a sex trafficking ring that kidnapped a 14-year-old girl last April. The teen was allegedly forced to have sex with men around San Antonio and to dance at a Corpus Christi strip club.

Robertson’s attorney, Jimmy Parks, said Robertson wanted to return to San Antonio quickly to challenge the “scurrilous allegations.”

I guess he was probably wrongfully accused in theses situations as well:

  1. Robertson spent a month in jail during the 1990 NBA off-season for beating his then-wife.
  2. In August 1997 he pled no contest to four misdemeanor charges of abusing a former girlfriend and was sentenced to one year in prison.
  3. Robertson was arrested again in San Antonio in January 2007, on a variety of charges, several related to domestic violence.
  4. And you can forget his late night ecstasy binges out at Canyon Lake.
  5. In addition to possessing that kind of terrible credit report is that according to quite a number of my female stripper friends is that he is a bad stripper tipper. Nothing says your a bad guy more than being a bad stripper tipper. Come on!

Detroit Pistons Rodney Stuckey Collapses During Game

Scary

Detroit’s Pistons Rodney Stuckey was conscious and breathing on his own as he was taken to a hospital after collapsing on the Pistons bench during the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Pistons said Stuckey was taken to the Cleveland Clinic and his vital signs were stable, but was going for further testing and observation.

Stuckey was wheeled off the court on a stretcher during the third quarter after he collapsed into a trainer’s arms on the bench during the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Stuckey walked off the floor for a timeout showing no signs of illness. After a few moments in a chair, though, Stuckey slumped over.

Medical personnel rushed over to the Pistons’ bench with a stretcher. Play was halted for 12 minutes as the medical staff worked on Stuckey, placed an oxygen mask on his face and wheeled him into an ambulance.

ESPN’s Heather Cox reported that Stuckey had a seizure in her early reports.

Hair Wars: Greg Oden

WTF: Jason Williams

Help Me

I saw this photo of Orlando Magic Jason Williams being helped into the air by teammate Rashard Lewis to dunk and I had to ask myself if I ever remembered Williams dunking before?

I wasn’t ever his biggest fan so I don’t know if it’s just old age that has caught up to him or did he really have problems touching the rim on a consistent basis. I’m really perplexed.

Allen Iverson’s Wife For Divorce

Did Tawanna tell you that? That soundbite is so classic that me and my friends still use it to this day when we question one another at the bar. It’s a top 5.

Back to the story at hand and that’s Tawanna Iverson has filed for divorce from Allen Iverson in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia. Court papers saying that the 8 1/2 year long marriage as irretrievably broken.

Ironically the petition was filed Tuesday the same day the Philadelphia 76ers cut ties with the All Star, she asked for temporary and permanent custody of their five children as well as child support and alimony. No dollar amount was listed.

The five children range in ages from 17 months to 15 years, including 4-year-old Messiah, who has been ill, leading to Iverson’s departure from the team at various points over the last month.

The family has lived in north Atlanta since August, but also has homes outside Detroit, two in Colorado and one in Villanova. The Iverson’s have a six bedroom, seven bathroom house in Villanova that has been on the market and dramatically fallen in the asking price from its first listing of at $6.3 million to $3.25 million.

The high school sweethearts from Virginia married in August 2001 in a celebrity-filled wedding at the Mansion in Voorhees.

In 2002, Iverson was alleged to have thrown Tawanna out of their Gladwyne home naked, and later was accused of threatening two men with a gun while looking for her.

New Jersey Nets Fans Boo LeBron James

Forever Linked To This Image

New Jersey Nets fan last night showed LeBron James that they aren’t to keen on him becoming a Nets. At least 17,502 fans let it be known pretty much every time James touched the ball they showered him with boos.

Nets fans once had high hopes that Jay-Z’s 1.47% ownership in the team would pursue him to make the move with them to Brooklyn however now they boo him like any other NBA superstar wearing another teams uniform.

Two fans sitting courtside who could be seen verbally trashing James even let their choice of attire taunt him. Each of them was wearing a Braylon Edwards jersey, one in Cleveland Browns and the other New York Jets, making light of his feud with the receiver.

That kind of treatment is quite different across the river with New York Knicks fans that still have hope he will call Madison Square Garden home. Just the other night half of the Knicks crowd displayed everything from tee shirts to signs begging James to sign with the Knickerbockers. The people of New York even pleaded with him to become a Knick after he was seen leaving a Jay-Z concert on Tuesday night.

NBA D-League Orders All Non-Adidas Branding Covered

Bottom Of Barrel Always Gets Walked On

The NBA Developmental League has ordered that all of it’s players not wearing Adidas sneakers will have to put a piece of tape over the swoosh or vector. That includes popular sneakers the Hyperdunks and LeBron VIIs.

Because of the NBA’s official athletic partnership with Adidas, The Brand With Three Stripes has been afforded extra logo visibility along each team’s uniforms and throughout each team’s arena. Adidas Basketball supplies free sneakers to each player, some making as little as $19,000 per season.

It’s an interesting stance, one that not many will care about because they are only D-League players with dreams of playing in the big leagues one day.

Reggie Evans Named NBA’s Dirtiest Player

Why Your Hand Down There The Ball Is By His Face

In a recent poll conducted by Sports Illustrated they asked 173 NBA players who they thought was the dirtiest player in the league was. According to the players it was Reggie Evans. Los Angeles Clippers Chris Kaman and Philadelphia 76ers Samuel Dalembert could not agree more. Here’s the rest of the list:

  1. Reggie Evans, Toronto Raptors (21%)
  2. Ron Artest, Los Angeles Lakers (13%)
  3. Andres Nocioni, Sacramento Kings (6%)
  4. Anderson Varejao, Cleveland Cavaliers (5%)
  5. Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers (4%)

Interesting though that Washington Wizards Fabricio Oberto who leads the league in fouls per 48 minutes, averaging 9.1, did not receive a single vote.

Who do you think is the NBA’s dirtiest player?
