Jonathan Lee Riches is suing Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Denver Nuggets superstar Carmelo Anthony, Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss and Chciago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf from his prison cell. Riches is not new to suing people as he has sued George Bush, Martha Stewart, Steve Jobs, Michael Vick, Lady Gaga and even Somali pirates in the past. In his suit he says
Carmelo Anthony told me he is going to kill me … I was his former boyfriend and we were in a sexual relationship in 2000.
Mark Cuban stole my credit cards and tried to buy the Texas Rangers with my money. Mark Cuban assaulted me serving ice cream at Dairy Queen.
Jerry Buss sold me Jeannie Buss on eBay and I was promised a Lakers janitor job when I get out of prison for less than minimum wage.
Obviously, these are all not true.

“The question ownership asked to me was, ‘Who do I want – Jason Kidd, Steve Nash or Kobe Bryant?’ I said Steve. Over Kobe. Stoudemire explained how things have changed after criticizing Mike D’Antoni for his lack of coaching on the defensive end in 2008.
“It definitely changed,” Stoudemire said. “We communicate more. I’m more mature than I was at 22 or 23. Studying defense over the past couple years helped, and I’m a better defensive player. He’s committed to it, but the main thing is for us as players to commit to it.”

From the San Antonio Express News, comes the story of the arrest of Mike Lavender, San Antonio Spurs P.A. announcer, who has been charged with one count of online harassment-spoofing of KSAT 12 reporter Jennifer Dodd. Lavender is accused of setting up a Twitter account, @SkanksInSA411, to harass Dodd, claiming she was in a relationship with a married man. Lavender is an announcer at Spurs, Rampage and Missions games.
He was charged Friday and released Saturday from Bexar County Jail after posting $3,500 bail.
Boston Celtics Bring Back Delonte West

Danny Ainge has brought back the NBA’s real life version of Sons of Anarchy, a story we posted September 18 2009, Delonte West to the city of Boston. The Celtics have signed their former guard as a free agent with no terms of the deal released yet.
West will miss the first 10 games of the season because of an NBA suspension for gun charges, was drafted by the Celtics with the 24th pick in 2004. He returns after playing for the Seattle SuperSonics and Cleveland Cavaliers. West was sent this summer from the Cavaliers to Minnesota Timberwolves which waived him last month.
In July he pleaded guilty to charges of carrying a concealed weapon and wearing, carrying and transporting a handgun in violation of Maryland law. West was carrying two loaded handguns, a shotgun and a Bowie knife when he was pulled over for speeding on a three-wheel motorcycle.

The Philadelpahi 76ers Andre Iguodala told reporters that his USA basketball teammate and Oklahoma City Thunders Kevin Durant will walk away from the NBA game as the all-time leading scorer. Durant, the NBA’s leading scorer last year, needs to score just a little over 32,000 more points to topple the mark set by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who leads everyone with 38,387 points. Iguodala says we’re witnessing just the beginning of Durant.
“Kevin Durant will be the NBA’s all-time leading scorer when it’s all said and done,” Iguodala said. “He loves the game and has a knack for putting the ball in the basket.”
Durant has scored 5,967 career points in the NBA.
LeBron James Seeks Dismissal Of Lawsuit Over Paternity Claims

Back on July 8, we posted the story of Leicester Stovell alleging he was the father of Miami Heat’s LeBron James. Stovell has already been shown that he wasn’t the father in a previous test but says that those test where falsified. Now James is trying to end this delusional man alleged family ties once and for all.
Lawyers for James and his mother filed papers in federal court seeking to dismiss the pending lawsuit. Their 14-page document says Stovell had completely failed to prove any of the facts alleged in his complaint. And they said he was motivated only by fame and money, calling Stovell’s actions a “fanciful hope for celebrity.”
“Stovell’s claims for millions of dollars from his putative son and Gloria James are based upon rank speculation,” said the court filing, “that a man who claims that as a 29-year-old lawyer he got a 15-year-old girl pregnant during a one-night stand and who never contributed a penny in child support would earn millions in commercial endorsements by crawling out of the woodwork after the child he never gave a thought to became an NBA star.”

Former NBA player Rick Fox and recently retired NFL player Kurt Warner will join Dancing with the Stars as the pair will make up a portion of the Season 11 contestant list. Fox and Warner hope to continue the success of past athletes on the show but will join a cast that already includes Bristol Palin, the daughter of political firecracker Sarah Palin, and “The Situation,” the dude from the MTV show Jersey Shore.
Fox has been retired for awhile, calling into question his conditioning and Warner was never the most mobile quarterback on the field, so how do you think Fox and Warner will do? Will they continue the legacy of successful sports stars?
New York Knicks Sign Knicks Sign Patrick Ewing Jr

Patrick Ewing Jr. is back with the team where his father became famous. The New York Knicks signed the Georgetown star but terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ewing was the 43rd pick of the 2008 draft by Sacramento Kings but wound up with the Knicks through a series of moves. He spent the 2008-09 season in the NBA Development League but missed all of last season because of injuries.
The six-foot-eight forward averaged 4.8 points in four games for the Knicks’ summer league team. Ewing’s father played 15 seasons for the Knicks before finishing his career with the Seattle SuperSonics and the Orlando Magic.

If you don’t know who Kat Stacks it’s OK, your just not in tune with hip hop groupies but just because she’s a groupie doesn’t mean you can hate her hustle. It’s been everything from their phone numbers, to the size of their disco stick. In her most recent video she went on to expose rapper Soulja Boy as a coke head with images of lawyer size cocaine rails on a dresser to how his cocaine use effected his disco stick during sex.
Her way of doing things, her way she goes about her self promotion has already angered the fans of artists Bow Wow and Fabolous. So much so that she was slapped repeatedly in a hotel bar and told to “apologize to Fab and Bow Wow” by a group of male fans. But she continues to be the new Superhead in the game.
Shortly after 3:00 AM Sunday morning Kat went on her Twitter account, @iHateKatStacks, to tweet to Denver Nuggets Carmelo Anthony asking if he tasted like caramel. Her tweet was retweeted and it prompted a response from Carmelo’s new wife La La Vazquez.
“Come get these bird seeds i left for you @ihatekatstacks…I AINT THE ONE…I’m only gonna tell you ONE time.”
That prompted a tweet from her NBA husband offering $5,000 to anyone that would slap Kat Stacks. He followed with another tweet asking whoever was to accomplish it to
“record it and send it to me along with name and address. real talk” and came with a link to a picture of the $5,000.
Contrary to earlier reports Anthony did not delete his Twitter account but did post a tweet saying that his account was hacked.
Whatever. I’m serious done with athletes using Twitter like it’s barbershop talk and when that talk ends up endangering their standing with their employer or league commissioner, they run to the my account was hacked card. But what about your wife’s account Carmelo? Your selling me a bunch of bull and I’m not buying it.

Ex-NBA Player Rumeal Robinson Faces Federal Fraud Charges

Back on October 6 2009, we posted the story of former NBA player Rumeal Robinson who tricked his foster mother into signing over the deed to her own home and transferred the property to people unknown to her to hold the home as collateral has now a court date on federal fraud charges. Robinson is charged with 13 counts, including eight counts of wire fraud, three counts of bank bribery and one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud. The trial on the federal charges is scheduled to begin on August 30 and is expected to run for at least a week.
According to the indictment, Robinson and his girlfriend, Stephenie Hodge, worked with a loan officer at Iowa-based Community State Bank to take out nearly $1.4 million in loans by means of false and fraudulent pretenses, representations and promises. The money was allegedly meant to help finance the development of a Jamaican luxury vacation resort to be known as Harmony Cove. Robinson and Hodge used the money from the fraudulent loans for items related and unrelated to the Harmony Cove project.
Donald Barrows, Robinson’s adopted brother, says that his Rumeal is a “strip club addict” who would spend up to $20,000 a night on exotic dancers.
Robinson, a former NBA player who was drafted in 1990 by the Atlanta Hawks, is most famous for hitting two crucial free throws in the 1989 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship game for the University of Michigan Wolverines against Seton Hall University.

“The way they unlock is every couple of hours you get a new pair,” explains Boenisch. “The shoes also have attributes on them, so this becomes really beneficial both in My Player and MJ Creating a Legend mode. And shoes can be unlocked anywhere in the game, whether you’re playing online or franchise or practice mode. Your timer is always running and shoes are always unlocking.”
In total there 40 pairs of shoes from the Jordan line including the CP3s, Melo 5s, and other kicks from the Jordan line to fulfill your sneaker fetish. The order that you get your JB fix is random, so you might get a pair of 5s first then a pair of 23s next. It’ll be like a digital dice game. NBA 2K11 drops October 5, 2010.

Chicago Bulls To Honor Scottie Pippen With Statue
The Chicago Bulls announced plans to unveil a bronze statue of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen that will be displayed permanently in the United Center by the end of the 2010-11 season.
The statue will be crafted by Omri and Julie Rotblatt-Amrany of Highland Park, Ill., who also sculpted the famous Michael Jordan statue which was unveiled in January 1994 in conjunction with Jordan’s No. 23 jersey retirement.

San Antonio Spurs Bring Danny Ferry To Front Office

The San Antonio Spurs have brought back former player and director of pro player personnel Danny Ferry. The former general manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers will return to the silver and black to replace Dell Demps, who left to become GM of the New Orleans Hornets last month, in becoming club’s director of pro player personnel. Ferry will oversee the Spurs NBA D-League team, the Austin Toros.
Ferry interviewed for GM jobs with the Portland Trail Blazers and New Jersey Nets after he was fired by the Cavaliers in May. He joins Spurs assistant GM Dennis Lindsey and Buford.
Chinese Group’s Plan To Buy 15% Cleveland Cavaliers Falls Through

The deal to sell a minority stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers to a Chinese investment group has been dead for months according to the NBA because businessman Kenny Huang couldn’t come up with the money.
Huang had agreed to buy 15 percent of the team owned by former Cavaliers Vice Chairman David Katzman. Any transfer of team ownership of more than 5 percent must be approved by the NBA’s Board of Governors, specifically three-fourths of the other 29 teams. Approval is based on a rigorous personal, business and financial background check but it never got that far.
Apparently the deal fell through back in May well before the NBA Finals and the LeBron James decision.
