Golf was around before Tiger Woods and it will be around after he hangs up his spikes but lets be real and admit there are still a lot of people like myself that have no interest in watching golf unless Tiger is playing or making a charge on Sunday towards a victory.
But how does EA Sports put out a video game entitled Tiger Woods and then make the superstar share the cover of his own game? Again I’m not a golf viewer so I have no idea who that cat is that’s lurking over his shoulder. Is that Vijay Singh or Casey Martin, I have no idea.
And don’t give me that well John Madden isn’t on the cover of his video games anymore. Oh really?

Grand Theft Tebow is the Heishman Trophy winner and former University of Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow’s new nickname. It all started Monday on Twitter thanks to NASCAR driver Darrell Waltrip who sent out tweets saying that:
“Tim Tebow took my car last night , problem is I didn’t tell him he could , he took it by mistake , its 3 o’clock and he hasn’t returned it !3:52 p.m.”
“got my car back , trying to get the rest of the story , thought about reporting it had been stolen , Tebow would have died if I had of ! 8:59 p.m.”
What exactly happened is that Tebow has been training in Nashville and flew out of a private airport to the NFL combine last week and his agent Jim Denton drove his black Mercedes SUV. Tebow returned back from the combine on Sunday evening with to find the black SUV unlocked with the push-start key inside and drove off.
Later that night, Waltrip returned to the private airport after a NASCAR race in Las Vegas to find his black Lexus SUV gone. There was however a black Mercedes SUV in the parking lot. He asked the folks at the airport what happened to his car.
“They turned to me and said, ‘Tim Tebow has your car,’” Waltrip said. in a telephone interview. “I said, ‘What is he doing with my car? I didn’t tell him he could take my car.’ The guys said, ‘We thought you told him he could drive your car.’ I know the guy, but I’ve never met the man. I didn’t tell him he could take my car.”
Waltrip was with his daughter and the two of them drove off, wondering how Tebow had his car. He then got a cell phone message from a friend who spotted his car at a local restaurant, with a tall lanky guy getting out of it. At this point, Waltrip decides he wants to call the local sheriff’s office, report the car stolen and have Tebow pulled over as a prank.
“I was going to call the police and have them say, ‘I thought you were a nice Christian boy. We didn’t know you were a car thief, too!’” Waltrip said with a laugh.
His wife apparently talked him out of the idea. It turns out, both black SUVs were parked next to each other and the Lexus which belonged to Waltrip was mistakenly taken, not the Mercedes.

I don’t know a damn thing about boxing, I respect those that do it’s just not my lane. I do believe Mike Tyson is the most misunderstood athlete of my generation. However a Tyson comeback is something I hope is false or if true he deeply reconsiders it.
The boxing website Ringsidereport.com is reporting from a source very close to Tyson that his former promoter Don King has a tentative deal for him to return to the ring later this year.
The early reports reportedly have Tyson capitalizing on the recent appearance of Evander Holyfield and himself on Oprah’s TV show and fighting in a Tyson-Holyfield III. The report does suggest that there is some hesitation on the part of Iron Mike but there is a plan B in works.
A Connecticut heavyweight named Tony Grano, former cruiserweight champ, Jean Marc Mormeck, Vinny Maddalone, and Derric Rossy have all been mentioned as potential comeback opponents for Tyson.
Tyson retired in June 2005 after refusing to come out for round seven against the Irish journeyman Kevin McBride. Tyson looked to have lost up to 40 pounds in a recent walk-on appearance on the Italian TV verison of Dancing With Stars.
Tyson turns 44 in June and Holyfield 47, will fight till he’s laid six feet deep.

Men’s Hockey Gold Medal Game Draws 27.6 Milli

The Winter Olympics men’s hockey gold medal game between USA and Canada drew a 17.6 overnight rating on NBC Sunday afternoon and a total of 27.6 million viewers. Those number are up 46% from the 2002 gold medal game in Salt Lake City, which featured the same two teams.
Sunday’s game is the highest rated hockey telecast in the United States since 1980.
To put the numbers in perspective, Sunday’s game drew a higher overnight rating than every World Series game since 2006, every NBA Finals telecast since 1998, and every NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four game since at least 1998.
Excluding the NFL, the 17.6 overnight for the game is the second-highest of the year for any sporting event, behind only the Texas/Alabama BCS National Championship Game in January (18.2).
I’m a non hockey fan and I could sense how big the game was as I was receiving texts from other non hockey fans about the game.

So I was at the Adult Mexaplexx last night after striking out the bar and came across the latest production by Adam & Eve Pictures entitled “Tyler’s Wood,” obviously a play on Tiger Woods.
After staring at it for no more than two seconds I went ahead and bought it. The plot features a famous golfer and his long-suffering blond wife. There of course was the interracial scenes, some lesbian scenes and a whole lot of screaming “FORE!”

PETA Puts Out Tiger Woods Billboard Saying “Too Much Sex A Bad Thing”

The animal rights group has created a graphic showing a photo of Tiger Woods accompanied by the all-caps text, “TOO MUCH SEX CAN BE A BAD THING.”
A blog post at PETA’s web site explains the ad that one unspayed female cat and her offspring can produce an estimated 420,000 cats in only seven years, and a female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in six years. Many of those animals end up unwanted and unloved, often dropped off at animal shelters that are already bursting at the seams.
But I don’t think PETA received any kind of permission to use Woods image.

The Buddhist spiritual leader said that he had never heard of Woods. The Dalai Lama probably the first person I know of who wasn’t aware of Woods existence and had to be briefed on the Woods sex scandal. Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader emphasized the importance of self-discipline.
“Whether you call it Buddhism or another religion, self-discipline, that’s important. . . . Self-discipline with awareness of consequences.”
Woods said that in recent years he had “drifted away” from the Buddhist values of his upbringing.
“Buddhism,” he said, “teaches that a craving for things outside ourselves causes an unhappy and pointless search for security. It teaches me to stop following every impulse and to learn restraint.”
The embattled golf great said he was planning to rededicate himself to the Eastern religion.
Tiger Woods Statement Draws 1.7 & 2.1 Milli On ESPN & FOX

Tiger Woods’ public statement, his first since allegations of marital infidelity surfaced last year, drew 1.7 million viewers on ESPN Friday morning about 4 times the average viewership for the 10 AM SportsCenter during the previous week.
ESPN was not the only beneficiary. The Golf Channel attracted 745,000 viewers for its coverage from 10-10:20 AM, and 521,000 viewers for its complete 90-minute Special Report.
Friday’s Special Report gave The Golf Channel its second-highest rating of the year, and its best non-tournament rating since August of last year.
Elsewhere, Woods’ statement drew 2.1 million viewers on FOX News Channel and 833,000 on CNN. Numbers for MSNBC were not available.

United States Olympic bronze medal winner Scotty Lago was forced to leave the Vancover Winter Olympics by the U.S. Olympic Committee after these photos surfaced of him taking part of the Vancouver nightlife.
Lago offered up an apology after the photos of him using his bronze medal from snowboarding to score chicks popped up on the Internet. He received an ultimatum from the U.S. Olympic Committee to say he was sorry and go or get ejected from the Olympic Village.
Lago has been placed in a “blackout period” meaning he can’t talk about the incident at all until March 3 when the games complete.
Canadian Figure Skater Mother Dies Before Seeing Daughter Compete

The mother of Canadian figure skating champion Joannie Rochette died overnight in a Vancouver hospital, according to multiple reports. Thérèse Rochette was 55.
Rochette and her family arrived in Vancouver on Saturday morning, ahead of this week’s women’s figure skating competition. Thérèse Rochette was taken to a hospital early Sunday morning after suffering a heart attack.
Canadian Olympic officials have indicated that Joannie Rochette intends to compete in these Games. The women’s short program takes place on Tuesday. Rochette is considered a medal contender.

Duke Lacrosse Accuser Arrested For Attempted Murder

Durham police arrested Duke lacrosse accuser Crystal Gale Mangum, 33, late Wednesday after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, set his clothes on fire in a bathtub and threatened to stab him.
Authorities charged her with attempted first-degree murder, five counts of arson, assault and battery, communicating threats, three counts of misdemeanor child abuse, injury to personal property, identity theft and resisting a public officer.
When officers arrived, they found Mangum and her boyfriend, Milton Walker, 33, fighting. According to police documents, Mangum scratched, punched and threw objects at Walker and told him, “I’m going to stab you, (expletive)!”
She then went into a bathroom and set his clothes on fire in the bathtub, police said. Officers called the fire department to put out the flames. No one was injured.

Boosted by a heavy dose of of U.S. stars, the Winter Olympics on NBC thumped American Idol Wednesday night.
Coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics drew a 19.3 overnight rating on NBC Wednesday night, the highest overnight rating thus far for these Olympic games.
The Olympics dominated American Idol head-to-head, topping the reality show by 61% from 9-10 PM (19.8 to 12.3).
This is the first time in six years that any television program has beaten American Idol head-to-head.
Winter Olympics Tops NBA All-Star Game In Ratings

A record crowd at Cowboys Stadium did not translate into extra television viewers for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game.
Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game drew a 3.8 U.S. rating and 6.9 million viewers on TNT, down 16% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (4.5, 7.6 mil).
Sunday’s game is tied with the 2008 game as the lowest rated NBA All-Star Game ever. Additionally, the 6.9 million viewers is the third-lowest for the NBA All-Star Game since at least ‘90, ahead of the 2008 and 2007 games.
The All-Star Game aired directly opposite the Winter Olympics on NBC, which drew a 14.3 rating and 26.4 million viewers on Sunday night. The 2006 All-Star Game, which also aired opposite the Winter Olympics, drew a 4.3 U.S. rating and 7.1 million viewers.
To put the numbers in perspective, the NBA All-Star Game finished well behind the 2010 Pro Bowl on ESPN (7.1, 12.3 mil) and the 2009 MLB All-Star Game on FOX (8.9, 14.6 mil), but comfortably ahead of the 2009 NASCAR All-Star Race on Speed (2.4, 4.2 mil) and the 2009 NHL All-Star Game on Versus (0.6, 1.1 mil).
