Brian Dawkins Says Andy Reid Belongs On Hot Seat
Brian Dawkins might be voicing a majority opinion, but the former Philadelphia Eagles safety points to coach Andy Reid as the one to bear the pressure of high expectations.
When asked during a recent NFL Network podcast if his former coach should be on the hot seat, Dawkins said:
“Yes, here’s the thing. When you go out and you get some of the pieces that they got. That’s telling the fan base something. Even coming into this year … some of the things they’re doing this offseason, that’s telling the fan base something. You then have to show … what are you as a coach.”
Dawkins, who played 13 seasons in Philadelphia and is a six-time All-Pro, retired in April as one of the most popular players in franchise history.
“If there was a chance for this team to go far, it should be this year. You should know your team, you should know who can do what,” Dawkins said.
